AFTER CARE

For best healed results we suggest the following aftercare instructions

Aftercare

SMP Aftercare

Short Term Care

Immediately after the SMP treatment, your scalp will need time to heal. Just like any other cosmetic tattoo or medical procedure, you should not interfere with your body’s recovery process. The scalp will form tiny micro-scabs (not visible to the eye) where the needle pierced the skin. Under no circumstances should you touch, pick at, scratch or disturb your scalp in any way while your body heals these small wounds.

First 3 Days:

  • No water on the head

  • No sweating or working out

  • No soap, shampoo, dry shampoo, concealer, conditioner, lotion…etc.

  • No washing of the scalp whatsoever

Day 4:

  • You may use warm WATER to rinse your head (no soap)

  • You may sweat lightly

  • You may work out lightly

Day 10:

  • You may use soap and water to wash your head as normal

  • You may work out as normal

  • You may sweat as normal

Long Term Care

When your procedure is healed completely, you should protect your scalp from direct sun by wearing a hat and/or applying sunblock. The sun will damage your skin and subsequently will have a negative effect on the longevity of your Micropigmentation.

Clients with SMP that replicates hair follicles (stubble) should cut your hair at a length that will seamlessly blend in with the SMP. There are several products that can achieve this result. Depending on the thickness of your hair, one of the products below should work for you.

We recommend the following:

BaByliss Pro FLASHFX trimmer

Andis T-trimmer

Clients with long hair who have used SMP to add density should use a delicate shampoo once the procedure is completely healed.

Disclaimer: The products listed above are recommended for use after your SMP treatment has completely healed. If you have any questions or if you experience any irritation or discomfort while using any of these products you should stop using them immediately and consult with your doctor.
